Twenty-nine years ago, the NICU at Laniado Hospital was Adi Karta’s first home. Born at just 27 weeks and weighing only 800 grams, his chances were fragile but his spirit was not. For three months, he fought for his life, supported every moment by our devoted team.

At his side back then was Eti Litig, our Head NICU Nurse, who cared for him with unwavering dedication.

Last week, an extraordinary moment unfolded. Adi returned to Laniado but this time, as a father.

Together with his wife, Shirley, he came to bring home their newborn daughter, who had been cared for in our newly built, fully fortified NICU, a place designed to protect life even in the most uncertain times.

As war continues and sirens sound, our NICU remains fully operational, 24/7, shielded from missile and rocket threats. It is this safety that has led so many families to choose Laniado, trusting us with what matters most.

And then came the moment that said everything.

As war continues and sirens sound, our NICU remains fully operational, 24/7, shielded from missile threats.

Standing there once again was Eti Litig—the very same nurse who had once fought for Adi’s life—now caring for his daughter, and personally accompanying the next generation home.

From one life saved… to another life beginning.

We wish the Karta family endless health, happiness, and joy and thank them for allowing us to be part of their story, not once, but twice.
