Ruth Cohen, a resident of Netivot, gave birth to a sweet son yesterday in Laniado Hospital. Ruth is the sister of Amit Man, a Kibbutz Beeri MDA paramedic who was murdered after she chose, with immense bravery, to stay to treat the wounded and not to save herself.

Only about three hours after the birth, in the second maternity ward, Ruth was interviewed by 11 TV Channel.

A resident of Be’eri, Amit was buried in the cemetery in Netivot. The funeral was attended by hundreds of her family members, friends and colleagues.

“Amit sacrificed herself while trying to protect the lives of the patients".

“Amit sacrificed herself while trying to protect the lives of the patients. Her priority was only what was best for them. Her untimely passing left us shocked and in pain,” said MDA director-general Eli Bin. “Magen David Adom cherishes all that Amit has done, and our employees and volunteers bow their heads and hug her family. May her memory be blessed,” said Bin.
