A recent initiative at Laniado Hospital stands in solidarity with those still held captive by Hamas. In Jewish tradition, the birth of a baby is deemed a significant "hour of desire" for prayer. Over generations, many women have fervently prayed during childbirth for their children, families, and the wellbeing of the Jewish community in Israel.

As a gesture of support, the names and images of those abducted and remaining in captivity were recently displayed at the entrance of the delivery room in Laniado Hospital. This allows visitors and well-wishers to offer prayers and support for the individuals being held against their will.

Remarkably, Laniado Hospital is expecting nearly 900 births in December. This statistic is noteworthy, especially when compared to the bustling activity of the busiest maternity hospital in the UK, the Liverpool Women's Hospital, which records around 700 births each month.
