Laniado Hospital Continues to Move Patients and Staff into Fortified Areas Amid Threats of Missile Attack

Netanya, Israel – June 2025
Laniado Hospital, a vital medical centre serving the Sharon region, has been forced to undertake an unprecedented relocation of patients and staff into fortified areas of the hospital due to the escalating threat of missile attacks.
With large sections of the hospital currently unfortified, dozens of patients—including those in critical care—have been moved into underground shelters, converted storage rooms, and other protected spaces throughout the facility. These makeshift wards now serve as temporary homes for some of the hospital’s most vulnerable, including patients requiring intensive monitoring, ventilatory support, and emergency interventions.
The rapid transformation of non-medical areas into functioning clinical zones has stretched the hospital’s resources to the limit. Medical staff now work across a fragmented and physically demanding layout, often far from traditional equipment hubs and treatment rooms. The disruption has been immense—but the care has not faltered.
“Our doctors and nurses continue to deliver the highest standards of care, even in settings never meant to house patients,” said a hospital spokesperson. “But we are in urgent need of support to maintain this standard and ensure that every patient remains safe and well-treated under these extraordinary conditions.”
To continue providing life-saving treatment in fortified zones, Laniado urgently requires additional medical equipment specifically suited for temporary and mobile deployment. Among the most urgently needed items:
- Infusion Pumps (£1,250 each, 100 needed) – critical for controlled medication delivery
- Monitors (£10,000 each, 20 needed) – essential for tracking vital signs in scattered locations
- Respirators (£25,000 each, 10 needed) – life-saving support for ventilated patients
- ECG Machines (£4,000 each, 4 needed) – for real-time heart monitoring
- Defibrillators (£8,000 each, 2 needed) – for emergency cardiac resuscitation
- Ultrasound Devices (£20,000 each, 2 needed) – for rapid bedside diagnostics
- Blood Pressure & Temperature Gauges (£2,000 each, 4 needed) – for essential monitoring
- Mobile X-Ray Unit (£75,000, 1 needed) – to allow chest and fracture imaging without moving unstable patients
We are in urgent need of support to maintain this standard.
With patients scattered across fortified but unconventional treatment areas, the need for duplication of critical devices has become unavoidable. Equipment that could once serve an entire floor must now be replicated in each shelter zone to meet safety standards and clinical needs.
“We’re asking our global supporters to stand with us,” the spokesperson added. “Together, we can ensure that even in the most uncertain times, every patient at Laniado receives not just shelter—but truly excellent care.”
Donations will directly fund the acquisition of this urgently needed equipment, supporting the hospital’s mission to protect life and dignity in every circumstance.
