Meet Dr. Shani Eitan, the newest resident in the paediatric department at Laniado Hospital. A mother of three, a former biomedical engineer, and now a dedicated paediatrician, Dr. Eitan has come full circle—returning to the very place that once changed her life.

Her journey into medicine began with a deeply personal moment. When her eldest son was hospitalized in paediatric intensive care as a baby, she made a life-altering decision: to leave behind a thriving career in high-tech and pursue her true calling—becoming a doctor.

I choose Laniado,” Dr. Eitan shares, “because here, I can truly make a difference.

As part of the partnership between Laniado Hospital and Ariel University, where the hospital serves as a clinical training centre, Dr. Eitan completed her entire medical education at Laniado—from student to intern. Her connection to the hospital became even more personal when, during an ultrasound training session in the Gynaecology and Maternity Department, she discovered she had low amniotic fluid. That moment turned her from a student into a patient, ultimately leading her to give birth to her third son at Laniado.

“I choose Laniado,” Dr. Eitan shares, “because here, I can truly make a difference. The magic of Laniado lies in its human touch—both among the staff and in patient care.”
