Laniado Hospital initiates the training of numerous youth movement participants to administer first aid during emergencies.

Dubbed "Trained Youth Saving Lives," the programme involves instructing members from four prominent Israeli youth movements: Zofim, Bnei Akiva, Maccabi Tsair, and Working and Learning Youth. Within this initiative, participants are equipped with skills to assist victims in their immediate surroundings, utilising professional equipment. The project commenced recently with virtual sessions, where thousands of trainees were guided by Dr. Roi Midan, the head of the Emergency Medicine at Laniado Hospital. Throughout the training, participants were showed essential techniques to address various emergencies, such as airway clearance, haemorrhage control, fracture immobilisation, and burn treatment. A significant aspect of the programme involved an "improvisation workshop," wherein participants learned to manage bleeding without specialised equipment and set fractures using unconventional methods.

Dr. Midan emphasizes that the initial hour following an injury is pivotal, with many casualties occurring during this period. Thus, imparting immediate response skills to a wide audience is paramount, ensuring effective aid provision until professional assistance arrives especially in light of the current situation in Israel.
