Congratulations to the oldest woman in Israel!
Congratulations to the oldest woman in Israel!
This week we celebrated the 110th birthday of dear Mrs. Tzila Cohen in the geriatric wing!
Here are some fascinating facts about Tzila:
- She was born in 1914 in the town of Krasnik, Poland. At the age of 21, she came to Tel Aviv as a young pioneer.
- In 1958, she participated in the exciting ceremony of laying the cornerstone for the Kiryat Sanz neighbourhood in Netanya—an important milestone in the city’s history.
- Until the age of 90, she walked every morning from the Sharon Mall area to the sea in Netanya, and at 102, she was living alone with almost no assistance!
- Tzila is part of the founding generation of the city of Netanya. She helped build the city with hard work and great faith.
- She had the privilege of raising two sons—Ya’akov (80) and Beni (76)—who are joined by 5 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.
We join in congratulating dear Tzila and wish her continued health.
During the celebration, we surprised Tzila with a heartfelt greeting from the President of the country, who wished her health, happiness, and wisdom. He added that “an old man is a rabbi who has gained wisdom,” and there’s no doubt that Tzila, with her remarkable life experience, is a wise and inspiring figure who has contributed much more than years to her community.
We join in congratulating dear Tzila and wish her continued health, joy from her family, and a vibrant, happy life!
