Dr. Nimrod, the trauma unit director at Laniado Hospital, has exemplified dedication and heroism since his appointment last September. Just two weeks into his new role, he was called to serve as a combat doctor in the reserves, where he spent an astounding 270 days treating complex injuries to soldiers and civilians in Gaza and Lebanon.

During his first 24-hour leave, Dr. Nimrod faced another life-threatening situation closer to home. En route back, he was urgently summoned to Laniado’s trauma center to treat a gang attack victim with severe gunshot wounds. Arriving in his combat uniform, he performed a swift initial assessment and emergency procedures before embarking on a multi-hour surgery to repair extensive injuries, including the colon, stomach, and blood vessels. By the next morning, he was already back in Lebanon, continuing his reserve duties.

Your quick intervention saved a life.

“For me, the reserves represent the highest value,” says Dr. Nimrod. “I get to save lives both on the battlefield and in the hospital. My mission doesn’t end with the reserves; it extends to the trauma unit, where I work with incredible teams to achieve the same goal—saving lives.”

Dr. Julieta Warthin, director of emergency medicine at Laniado, praised his swift action and dedication: “Your quick intervention saved a life. This commitment exemplifies the values we uphold at Laniado Hospital—selflessness and teamwork.”

Dr. Nimrod’s story is a testament to resilience and teamwork, both in the reserves and the hospital. Whether on the battlefield or in the operating room, he embodies the true spirit of service, driven by a mission to save lives at every turn.
