The threat hasn’t passed, the need hasn’t gone away - Preparing for the Next Emergency

Laniado Hospital are preparing for the Next Emergency! The last few weeks have been horrendous for those living in Israel. Laniado Hospital was also affected and was forced to suspend all outpatient services, including MRI scans, in response to the ongoing national emergency. This is not a temporary inconvenience—it’s a reflection of the critical, war-like conditions our healthcare system is still navigating.
Though Laniado has not suffered a direct hit, the devastating missile strike on Soroka Medical Centre in Beersheba has served as a chilling reminder: no hospital is immune. We remain on high alert, under the same national security threat that has pushed hospitals across Israel into crisis mode.
Laniado’s emergency protocols—shaped by decades of experience, including the Park Hotel terror attack during Passover 20 years ago—have once again been activated. Underground parking and storage areas have been repurposed into makeshift wards. Non-urgent admissions have been suspended, with priority given only to life-threatening cases. Patients are being relocated underground as a precautionary measure.
It is about saving lives—before the next siren sounds.
While the ceasefire between Israel and Iran appears to be holding, the situation remains volatile. Laniado, like every hospital in Israel, is operating as if under fire—ready to spring into full emergency response at a moment’s notice.
But readiness comes at a cost.
We are urgently fundraising to:
- Complete the construction of our New Sheltered Maternity Unit
- Build a new Fortified Emergency Centre
- Purchase critical, lifesaving medical equipment for immediate use
This is not just preparation—it is protection. It is survival. It is about saving lives—before the next siren sounds.
We invite you to stand with Laniado Hospital. Help us build the infrastructure and secure the equipment we need to protect mothers, newborns, and the most vulnerable in times of crisis.
