On 5th and 6th July 2026, supporters across the UK came together for Laniado UK's "When the Sirens Sound – Not Everyone Can Run" matched funding campaign.

Thanks to an extraordinary response from our community, the appeal raised an incredible £382,021 from more than 1,300 donors, exceeding its original £360,000 target and helping to fund the new Trauma Wing within Laniado Hospital's Sheltered Emergency Centre.

For fifty years, Laniado Hospital has stood on the front line of saving lives in Israel.

Only weeks before the campaign, we marked two significant milestones: the 32nd Yahrtzeit of the Klausenberger Rebbe zt"l, founder of Laniado Hospital, and fifty years since the first baby was born there.

After losing his wife, eleven children and most of his followers in the Holocaust, the Rebbe chose to answer unimaginable tragedy not with hatred, but by rebuilding Jewish life. When the first baby was born at Laniado in June 1976, he described it as his revenge against the Nazis.

Not through vengeance. Through life.

Today, the hospital he founded serves more than half a million people across Israel's Sharon region. Yet modern warfare has created a new and frightening reality.

When missile sirens sound, many patients can be moved to protected areas.

But not everyone can.

The critically injured. Patients on ventilators. Those undergoing emergency treatment. The doctors and nurses fighting to save them.

They remain where they are because they have no choice.

That reality was brought into sharp focus when Soroka Medical Centre suffered a direct missile strike, demonstrating that hospitals themselves have become targets.

Not Everyone Can Run.

It is because of this new reality that Laniado is building its new Sheltered Emergency Centre.

Designed to care for up to 180,000 emergency patients every year, including 18,000 severe cases and more than 5,000 major trauma and critical emergencies, the new facility will ensure life-saving treatment can continue safely even during missile attacks.

At its heart will be the new Trauma Wing, where the most seriously injured patients will receive immediate specialist care when every second counts.

The success of this campaign is entirely down to the generosity of our supporters.

More than 1,300 individuals, families and communities united with one shared purpose: to ensure Laniado's doctors and nurses can continue saving lives, whatever is happening outside the hospital walls.

To every donor, fundraiser, volunteer, match funder and supporter—thank you. Your generosity will help protect patients and medical teams for generations to come.

Although the main campaign has now ended, our Bonus Round remains open for a short time. If you haven't yet had the opportunity to support this life-saving project, there is still time to make a difference.

Together, we are helping write the next chapter in the Klausenberger Rebbe's extraordinary legacy.

Because when the sirens sound... not everyone can run.
