A number of staff members at Laniado have been called as reservists up and are now serving in the IDF. These include Dr Ari Plata and Dr Yagov Igor. Both are senior doctors working within the Surgery Department and are serving together on the northern border of Israel.

This has a significant effect across the hospital with staff having to work additional shifts to cover the lifesaving work these doctors do at the hospital on a daily basis.

The Israeli military has summoned over 360,000 reservists since the 7th October terror attack by Hamas. It equates to around 4 percent of Israel’s 9.8 million population and is one of the largest mobilisations in history affecting the lives of thousands of people in Israel and around the world.
