The Sun Shone, the Goals Came, and Over £20,000 Was Raised at the Laniado Football Legends Match 2025
Sunday 11th May 2025 | North West London

In a match that had it all — sunshine, stunning goals, football legends, and community spirit — the North London Whites emerged victorious in a thrilling 7–4 win over the North London Reds at the 2025 Laniado Football Legends Match.

With clear blue skies and summer temperatures lighting up the North West London pitch, hundreds turned out to support the annual charity showdown in aid of the new sheltered maternity unit at Laniado Hospital in Netanya, Israel. Over £20,000 was raised during the day, helping to support mothers and newborns with vital care and resources.

The game itself was a spectacle of attacking football, with fans treated to a festival of goals. The star of the day was undoubtedly Shloime Heimann, who stole the show with a sensational hat-trick to lead the Whites to a commanding victory. Heimann’s flair and finishing were simply too much for the Reds' defence to handle, earning him the match ball and plaudits from supporters and pundits alike.

David Tamman of the Whites was named ‘S Weissbart Diamonds’ Man of the Match. The towering centre-back delivered a standout defensive performance, making crucial tackles and organising the back line with authority, even as the game became a high-scoring affair.

Adding glamour to the occasion were footballing icons Jermaine Pennant (Football pundit, ex Arsenal and Liverpool player), Jamie O’Hara (football Pundit and ex Spurs player) and Ruel Fox (ex Spurs), who lent their presence, energy and enthusiasm to the day’s proceedings. Their support helped raise the bar on and off the pitch, giving young players and fans alike an unforgettable experience.

Off the field, the day was buzzing with activity. Kosher Candy provided much-needed refreshments, including hot dogs, iced coffee and crowd-favourite slushies. A raffle featuring signed memorabilia from Arsenal and Spurs generous vouchers from Pizaza and Samis restaurants added to the excitement.

Three astro pitches kept the next generation of footballers entertained, culminating in a penalty shootout on the main pitch. The winner walked away with a giant sweet tree, kindly donated by Kosher Candy. Kit sponsors were Kosher Kingdom and S Weissbart Diamonds.

With record attendance and excitement already building for next year’s event — including plans for a full children’s tournament — the Laniado Football Legends Match continues to grow into one of the community’s most anticipated football fundraisers.
