This past Friday, the Director-General of the Ministry of Health, Mr. Moshe Bar Siman-Tov, conducted an official tour of Laniado Hospital. He was accompanied by Dr. Sigal Libertant, Head of the General Medicine Directorate at the Ministry of Health. They were received by the hospital’s senior leadership: CEO Mr. Nadav Chen, Medical Director Prof. Zvi Shimoni, HR Manager R' Meir Belz, Chief Nursing Officer Mrs. Shimrit Roni, Deputy Medical Directors Prof. Mordechai Hallak and Dr. Yossi Dukes, and Emergency Preparedness Manager Mrs. Osnat Kaniel.

The visit focused on the fortified underground facilities, the fully protected Obstetrics and Gynecology wing, and the Emergency Department. During the tour, the hospital’s wartime preparedness was presented to the Director-General, including the opening of the new, state-of-the-art Maternity  C Department, which provides advanced structural protection for patients. The Management also discussed the various strategic challenges the hospital has navigated since the onset of the conflict.

A deeply moving moment occurred at the CT complex within the Emergency Department, where the Director-General met imaging technician Mrs. Noga Tzioni—the mother of the late Staff Sergeant Ofir Tzioni, who fell in battle on October 7th while demonstrating extraordinary heroism.

Our teams across all departments are working around the clock.

Throughout the visit, Mr. Bar Siman-Tov checked in on the well-being of the staff across all departments. Addressing the Obstetrics and Gynecology team, he remarked: "You have become the most sought-after team in the Middle East." Expressing his profound appreciation for the hospital’s work, he added: "We stand with you, both in providing personnel reinforcements for the maternity wing and in addressing other critical needs. The enduring resilience of the entire Laniado staff is truly inspiring."

Mr. Nadav Chen, CEO of Laniado Hospital, stated during the tour: "Our teams across all departments are working around the clock with awe-inspiring dedication; we do not take this for granted. Operations continue in underground and fortified areas, often under the duress of sirens and alerts. Our decision to expedite the opening of Maternity C Department prior to the war has proven to be a move of strategic significance for expectant mothers from across the country, who choose to give birth in a protected, above-ground facility."
