Last week, supporters of Laniado Hospital gathered in Chigwell, Essex, for an exclusive whisky tasting evening hosted by Gary WIlliams, that raised over £5,000 towards the hospital’s new Sheltered Maternity Unit.

The intimate event was attended by more than 25 guests, who were treated to an engaging and flavourful journey through some of the world’s finest whiskies, guided by renowned whisky expert Dani Smolowitz. Guests sampled a carefully curated selection of high-end drams, ranging from richly peaty expressions to smoother highland malts, as Dani shared insights into their origins, craftsmanship, and tasting notes.

Adding to the excitement, the evening featured a raffle and auction with an exceptional lineup of prizes, including the coveted Macallan Pholio 8, alongside premium bottles from esteemed distilleries such as Springbank and GlenDronach.

The event not only offered a memorable experience for whisky enthusiasts but also made a meaningful impact, all proceeds will go directly towards supporting the creation of Laniado’s new Sheltered Maternity Unit, ensuring expectant mothers and newborns receive the highest standard of care in a safe, nurturing environment.
