On 11 October 2026, twelve dedicated runners will proudly represent Laniado Hospital UK at the world-famous Chicago Marathon, united by one goal: to raise £50,000 for Laniado Hospital's new protected Emergency Department in Netanya, Israel.

 Every mile they run will help bring us closer to creating a modern, fortified emergency facility that will enable doctors and nurses to continue saving lives, even during times of crisis. The new department will provide patients and medical teams with the protection they need while ensuring critical emergency care never stops when it is needed most. Chicago is one of the 6 ‘Abbots Major World Marathons.’

The team includes experienced marathon runners and first-time participants, each taking on the 26.2-mile challenge in support of Laniado Hospital's mission of caring for every patient with compassion, dignity and hope.

Among the runners is Laniado Hospital UK Chief Executive Simon Silver, who will be joining the team on the streets of Chicago.

"Running a marathon takes determination, resilience and heart – qualities we see every day at Laniado Hospital," said Simon Silver. "Every step our team takes will help build a safer Emergency Department where doctors and nurses can continue treating patients when every second matters.
