Appeal for Thermal Clothing for Israeli Evacuees

Created on 22/11/2023

Amidst the ongoing conflict in Israel, a staggering 300,000 people have fled their homes in both northern and Southern Israel, seeking refuge in what are deemed safer areas within the country. In Sderot, a community of 30,000 residents located less than a mile from Gaza, only a fraction—a mere hundred families—have opted to remain in their homes. Additionally, 14 Israeli villages near the northern border with Lebanon, including Kiryat Shmona, have been cleared.

Efforts are underway to relocate these displaced individuals to cities like Netanya and Tel Aviv. However, the accommodations provided, primarily hotels and holiday apartments typically occupied during summer months, are now hosting evacuees who arrived with nothing but the clothes on their backs. As winter approaches, the urgent requirement for warm clothing becomes paramount for these evacuees.

Two members of the UK team, Chief Executive Simon Silver and Campaign Director Paul Greenberg, are embarking on a trip to Israel next week. Their to engage with evacuees directly, offering essential thermal clothing from the UK.

Please support the team by contributing to ensure these people are kept warm in the upcoming winter months, until they can safely return home.

Your generosity and support are immensely appreciated. Thank you for standing with us in aiding those affected by this crisis.
