
From a small hospital to a large medical campus, Laniado really does have a lot to be proud of.
1974 - Laying of the cornerstone.
1975 - Inauguration including launch of outpatient clinic and four treatment rooms.
1976 - First departments Obstetrics and Gynaecology open and include Gynaecological Operating Theatre
1977 /1978 - Emergency department opens, Intensive Care Unit inaugurated and Tessler Nursing School (Knows as one of the best in Israel today).
1979 - Ophthalmology Department opens and Dialysis Unit inaugurated. Emergency department deals with first terror attack in Netanya in a market in January.
1980 - Cornerstone laid for the Paediatric Department
1981 - Surgery room opens including three operating rooms. Picture shows surgery at Laniado.
1982 - Soldiers injured in the first Lebanon War are treated at Laniado. These are the first to be treated as a result of injuries obtained in a conflict.
1983 - Netanya population doubles in 10 years.
1985 - Materinity Wing expanded
1987 - Mammography and Women’s Wellness Centre opens. Cardiology, Physiotherapy and Neo-Natal Intensive Care units are added.
1988 - Medical and scientific library opens
1990 - Tessler school begins to offer 3 year qualified nursing programme for new immigrants from USSR and Ethiopia. Picture shows the building of the Tessler school.
1993 - Geriatric center opens along with the Hematology Unit.
1994 - The founder, The Klausenberger Rebbe dies aged 90.
1995 - Oncology Unit opens ensuring patients no longer have to travel long distances to receive treatment
1998 - Orthopaedic Department expands and Swiss born Dr Claude Picard immigrates to Israel and offers vital services to the Netanya community.
1999 - Ministry of health approves the opening of the Catheterisation Unit. Maternity unit now handling 4,000 births a year.
2000 - In-Vitro Fertilization (IVF) Unit opens.
2003 - Vascular Unit opens and the Gastroenterology Institute opens conducting 7,000 tests a year.
2005 - Heart Institute and Hand Surgery Unit opens
2007 - The Dyna and Fala Weinstock Paediatric Emergency Trauma Unit opens.
2008 - Baby 100,000 is born at Laniado
2009 - Brand new Maternity Centre and respite centre opens. Laniado now delivers 7,000 babies a month.
2010 - Researchers at Laniado find the cure for the West Nile Virus.
2012 - The Dyna and Fala Weinstock Cardiac Rehabilitation Unit opens.
2013 - Work commences on the new state of art Uunderground Dialysis centre.
2013 - Laniado UK undertake the project of purchasing a brand new Catheterisation lab for the hospital.
