Laniado Hospital: Meeting a Rapidly Growing Demand for Care in Israel
Laniado Hospital has experienced significant growth across nearly every major clinical department between 2021 and 2025, reflecting both the hospital’s expanding capabilities and the rising healthcare needs of the population it serves.
The latest departmental data highlights a clear and consistent upward trend in patient admissions, procedures, and diagnostic services, placing increasing pressure on facilities, staff, and infrastructure.
Emergency Care Under Rising Pressure
The Emergency Room (ER) remains the busiest department at Laniado Hospital. Annual ER admissions rose from 47,823 in 2021 to 55,309 in 2025, an increase of over 7,400 patients in just four years. This growth underscores the hospital’s critical role as a frontline emergency provider for the region and highlights the urgent need for expanded emergency capacity.
Growth in Paediatric and Women’s Health Services
Paediatric admissions increased from 13,329 to 15,492, reflecting a growing young population relying on Laniado for specialist care. Similarly, Delivery and Gynaecology services saw admissions rise from 19,670 to 23,124, while births increased from 7,131 to 8,168. These figures point to sustained demand in maternal and neonatal care, requiring modernised delivery suites and additional postnatal capacity.

Surgical Activity Continues to Expand
Surgical demand has risen sharply. The number of surgeries increased from 6,543 in 2021 to 8,482 in 2025, while total surgery hours climbed from 10,788 to 13,525. This growth reflects both higher patient volumes and increased procedural complexity, placing additional strain on operating theatres and recovery units.
Diagnostics and Life-Saving Treatments on the Rise
Advanced diagnostic and life-sustaining services are also seeing notable growth. MRI scans rose from 11,013 to 14,451, while dialysis treatments increased from 12,826 to 15,510. These services are essential for patients with chronic and acute conditions and require significant investment in equipment, staffing, and space.
Planning for the Future
Taken together, these figures illustrate a hospital operating at an increasingly intense pace. Growth is evident across emergency medicine, surgery, diagnostics, maternal care, and chronic disease treatment. While this reflects Laniado Hospital’s vital role and trusted reputation, it also highlights the pressing need for expansion, modernisation, and investment to ensure high-quality care can continue uninterrupted.
As demand continues to rise, strategic development and philanthropic support will be essential to enable Laniado Hospital to meet the healthcare needs of Israel’s population—today and for generations to come.
