
Laniado UK Executive Board Member Kevan Green's Cycle Challenge
2,900km in 29 days raising £29,000 for two amazing charities; Laniado UK and Myloma UK
And he is off! Kevan Green has undertaken the challenge of his life. At 830am on Tuesday 30 June, Kevan set off on a 2,900km bike road from Spec Savers in Romford near Loughton (where he has been a company director for over 30 years) to the Laniado Hospital in Netanya, Israel. The journey was made even more challenign with thousands of lorries stacked up on the M20 due to strike action by the French ferry workers. Eventually, Kevan and is entourage which incluces his wife Sandra Green, daughter Anna Green and long term friend Alex Stuart got to their hotel just 30 minutes late and mansaged to set off on time on the journey on from Calias on planned 1 July. The Course is a gruelling 29 days in total. From Romford he will go down to Folkestone which is 130km and then on to the euro tunnel where he will cycle the lenght of France and then across the the top of Italy. From there he will travel along the East Coast of Italy and then back to Rome where he will fly to Tel Aviv. The Israeli leg will see him cycling from Metula to Netanya finishing at Laniado Hospital on Tuesday 28 July. This is on average 100km a day or 62 miles.
