Dear Eli
I felt you ought to know how I was treated whilst undergoing a surgical procedure in Laniado Hospital and would like to share my experience.
Three weeks prior to my operation I met my surgeon Dr. Chani Bar Lev who immediately put me at ease. After an examination, she gave me a date for the procedure two weeks later, and reassured me I would be in good hands. I felt this as her nurse was very friendly and she said she would be with me during the procedure.
On the day of the procedure, I had to have various tests, after which I was taken to the in-patient day care. I immediately saw how nice the bed was made up, the very nice side cabinet and pretty, bright, colourful curtains and also plenty of room for visitors around the bed. The ward was perfectly clean. To add, the night wear was perfect also.
The staff were very friendly - the cleaner lady always said hello. At 5 pm I was taken to the theatre feeling very relaxed, having a drip which contained the anesthetic, which meant I was sleepy before I was on my way. I knew no more for over two hours when I was back in my cubicle with Mike, our son and daughter-in-law and slept through the night with no pain T.G.
At 6am the following morning I was told by the nurse I could make myself a hot drink which I did and other patients followed suit. No one could speak English but we all made ourselves understood. The patients I spoke to were all operated on by Dr. Bar Lev and were extremely happy like me.
I have been home a week now. I do my exercises, which the physiotherapist gave me to do, and I feel great B.H.
