Laniado Hospital modernizes its pharmacy!
Two sterile areas built for the Laniado pharmacy meet the highest standards.
The preparation of chemotherapeutic and biological treatments for cancer patients requires extremely careful attention. Their preparation requires an extremely precise dosage, maximum sterilization before their administration to patients. The construction of two new sterile areas has recently been completed at Laniado Hospital: one for the preparation of chemotherapeutic and biological treatments, and the second for the preparation of drugs requiring special sterilization such as certain intravenous antibiotics. These areas were built on the model of "sterile rooms" (as in some high-tech companies) that allow for maximum sterilization.
Laniado Hospital has invested 3 million NIS for the construction of these two areas. Only 10% of Israel's hospital pharmacies have sterile areas. The hospital's director of pharmacy, Mr. Saïd Amrana, said that these "sterile rooms are a great upgrade of the service provided by pharmacy to patients suffering from different cancers," and he stressed that they are able to "accomplish their mission at the highest level, as in the most advanced countries."
The director general of Laniado Hospital, Mr. Nadav Chen, congratulated the staff of the pharmacy. He said that "the construction of these sterile areas is part of the dynamics of construction and development that has been taking place within the hospital for 18 months: we have acquired new medical equipment for many services, opened two new hospital services and are about to complete the construction of a new Maternity Hospital and a brand new dialysis center. All these constructions also meet the highest hygiene standards in order to offer the best possible treatment. We want to be part of a long-term vision for hospital service."
