Paediatric nurses use lego to calm patients
Laniado's paediatric nurses and social workers are always looking for ways to calm young patients (and their parents) before an MRI scan, which involves sliding the child face up, into a scary looking tunnel on a very big machine, without a parent being nearby.
Recently, a member of Supporters of Laniado, Vivienne Simenoff, a long-time supporter of Laniado, connected us with the famous Lego Group in Denmark, in an attempt to help our staff reduce the child's anxiety.
This led to the recent arrival in our paediatric ward of a Lego model of an MRI unit! It includes an MRI machine with moving parts, a technician monitoring room, and a parents' waiting room.
As shown in the picture, the Lego model is already in use by our staff, to calm the nerves of our paediatric patients before their medical procedures.
Thank you Lego for the partnership and for helping our young patients.
