Staff commit to a 'Healthier lifestyle'
Last week, Laniado Hospital held a special “Health Day” for its 1500 employees. Four stations were set up in various locations in the medical center where staff members were asked to fill out questionnaires, tasted nourishing food and learned various tips for a healthful lifestyle. The questionnaires were composed by the Nutrition Department’s medical interns under the guidance of department personnel. Based on the responses, each employee was given a grade regarding his or her awareness of a healthy way of living. In addition, a poster produced for the occasion - "The Ten Commandments for a Healthful Lifestyle” - was hung throughout the hospital to raise awareness of the importance of a healthful diet and regular exercise to reduce stress.
The Health Day was the initiative of Hila Boaz, chief dietitian at Laniado, and Sarah Stieglitz of the Employee Welfare Department who said "I consider this an important event, one in a series aimed at helping the staff to lead by example when it comes to showing their patients a healthier way of living".
