Laniado Hospital has recently opened a new department that will provide rehabilitative care to patients who have had a stroke, an orthopaedic operation, or a serious illness that has partially disabled them to help further support and enable their recovery.
The care offered to patients aims to improve their mobility, so their lives can return to normal as quickly as possible. The new department also includes a day hospitalisation unit for patients being treated at home and in the hospital. The opening of the service was facilitated by the acquisition of specific equipment, which allows patients to become more mobile and independent, helping them to walk forwards, backwards, sideways, and to stand. The newly purchased equipment, manufactured by Israeli company Balance Tour, is the most advanced device available on the market today. The department will initially provide 15 hospital beds with a plan to add more, depending on demand.
Dr. Vered Hermush, Head of the Geriatric Department, explains that “rehabilitation is a necessary step for patients who have suffered considerable trauma before returning to their usual life. This service will allow an easy and beneficial transition for the patient.”
Mr. Nadav Chen, CEO of Laniado, commented at the opening of the department: “We have identified the need for such a service among the population of Netanya and the Sharon region, and we are delighted to fill and support this need. There is no doubt that this department is equipped with the best available equipment and will allow patients, with the help of God, to regain their functional capacities.”
